Rejected for a purpose, How God uses Rejection to help you find + fulfil your destiny by OJ Toks

Rejection is not an easy thing to handle. Everyone fears rejections. In this book, author OJ Toks explains using various case studies and biblical examples that every rejection has a purpose. If you are struggling to deal with rejection, this book gives hope and ways to understand and find a solution.

Why do people reject?

There could be various reasons for rejection. People can reject some for not being upto the mark or even when some one exceeds their expectations! This clearly means that the reason for rejection may not necessarily be in the rejected person. More heartening is to know that God wants us to learn some thing and so gave the rejection. OJ Toks explains with examples various external causes of reaction along with the metaphysical meaning. He explains further why God uses rejection for us and how to handle it.

Benefits of rejection

It is difficult to even imagine that rejection could have any benefits than making us depressed. The author convincingly explains that there are eight benefits of rejection. Quoting from bible,

And I will deal severely with all who oppressed you. I will save the weak and helpless ones; I will bring together those who were chased away. I will glory and fame to my former exiles, wherever they have been mocked and shamed. (Zephaniah: 3:19 NLT)

He explains that God loves and wants to use rejected for a purpose because they are refined with rejection and rejection comes to us as a part of this larger purpose.

Experiencing rejection in life

We may experience rejection in relationships, in families, or in any situation but when we realize that rejection comes for a purpose and we are chosen for that purpose, our outlook changes. Instead of taking personally we start giving it to God.

Rejection helps to take us to the right situation, right opportunity and right person. Read this:

Some times rejection is a strategy God uses to get you out of a family that is holding back. Family for you might be your friends, parents, siblings, church family, coworkers, in-laws, classmates or teammates. At times, being around them could be detrimental for your purpose. They could undermine your potential and limit your ambition to theirs, if they have any. In order for God to help you achieve the things He’s placed in your heart, if the people who are family to you are hindering that from happening, God will have to get you out of their lives.

Rejection leads us to find hope and purpose in a rejection. To sum up from the book, ‘It’s not a setback, it’s a setup’.

This book provides courage, hope and solution for those who are rejected whether big or small. In great detail, the author explains various rejection situations in our lives along with suggestions on how to face, handle and how to use it to fulfill our destiny.

Uma07, Yes, Even the day to day disapprovals, insults and cutdowns by others are included in the larger word rejection and OJ Tok's concepts are very helpful in keeping an objective perspective. Thank you for your comment.

To reject is firsts of all a selfish and self-centred action – so the one who is rejected has no choice but to survive and develop outside the circle of the rejecters. Naturally he will get stronger, for he is on his own, struggling to survive without support. Everything always turns out for the best for those who love and trust God, but not for those who were rejected because they did not love and trust God. Being rejected will force them deeper into the hell meant for rejects. Thanks for a thought-provoking hub.

We could all learn so much (or be reminded) if we just watch babies and toddlers. They fall down, and get back up and keep getting up until they can walk. And if you watch little pre-schoolers learning how to share; pesistence pays off, and it doesn't get personal. I think we just don't realize what we are witnessing sometimes.

Rejection is part of life, it just means that the person doing the rejecting has a different perspective. If you do get rejected at least you know that you are living life as opposed to just thinking about it.
